The 1891 Second Pinal County Courthouse Restoration and Rehabilitation project has been selected as the 2014 National and Arizona Public Works Project of the Year in the Historical Restoration/Preservation, $5 - $25 million category by the American Public Works Association (APWA). In 2012 Pinal County, ARCADIS, Swan Architects, and Concord General Contracting restored, rehabilitated, and renovated the courthouse to preserve the historic features while incorporating modernized systems and requirements necessary for a 21st century building.
We will be presented the state award at the 2014 APWA Arizona Chapter Statewide Conference on July 29, 2014, in Oro Valley, Arizona, and the national award at the International Public Works Congress & Exposition in Toronto, Canada, on August 18, 2014.
